Jack Horstmeyer, Partner

Jack Horstmeyer is a recognized authority in media management, specializing in new business and new product development, marketing communications, direct marketing, and brand strategy. He also is a pioneer in the Internet and eCommerce world, with over ten years experience at the highest level in adapting this new medium to existing and new brands.

Jack spent over three years as Vice-president, Product Development and Brand Strategy at Barnes & Noble.com, helping build this 3rd largest eCommerce company from $75MM in revenues to over in revenues to over $400MM in revenues at the end of 2002.

Prior to Barnes & Noble.com, he was Executive Director, Creative & Production Services at Modem Media, the first and eventually largest interactive communications agency, serving clients such as Citibank, AT&T, Compaq, Intel, Unilever, IBM, John Hancock Insurance Co. and JCPenney, Inc. and managing over 150 professionals in six offices worldwide.

Before Modem Media, Jack was Vice-president, Multimedia and New Business Development for Times Mirror Magazines. In his multimedia role, he was responsible for all Internet development, television and radio production and CD-rom initiatives, including negotiating the biggest, multi-publication content deal at the time with America Online. In new business development, he helped create and co-produced one of the largest multimedia cross-promotion initiatives in publishing history, featuring a unique partnership between the Smithsonian, the Discovery channel, Ford Motor Company, Motorola and magazines and newspapers across the country.

From 1983 to 1988, Jack was Creative Director, Time Inc. Magazine Company, where he was responsible for over $200MM in consumer and business-to-business marketing communications annually.

Jack is a 1975 graduate of Lehigh University, where he earned cum laude honors and was elected to Eta Sigma Phi, the classical studies honorary.
