
Pat Campbell, Managing Partner
Pat Campbell has 20 years of direct marketing and publishing experience. She has served as one of only two women Chairman of the Direct Marketing Association and is a former President of the DMA.
Most recently, Ms. Campbell was President of Direct Equity Partners, LP, a private equity firm specializing in direct marketing and Internet companies. Pat led investments and served on the board of a number of start-up and second-stage direct marketing companies. DEP's focus was on companies whose growth would be driven by the integration of multiple channels of distribution including direct marketing, retail, and the Internet.
Previously, Ms. Campbell was Senior Vice President of Interactive Marketing at Barnes & Noble.com and a member of the Executive Committee. She was responsible for creating and managing a world-class direct marketing group to drive customer acquisition, relationship management and product development on the Internet. Scope of responsibility included off-line traditional media, on-line marketing activities, integration with branding strategy and retail channel, and identification of major strategic partnerships.
Pat’s career spans many direct marketing disciplines from financial services to publishing. She served as a senior executive at Advanta, $1.5 billion financial services company. Advanta was the ninth largest issuer of credit cards in the U.S and third largest seller of mortgages direct to the consumer. At Advanta, Pat was responsible for all marketing, new product development and Internet activities. As President of Popular Science and Home Mechanix/Today’s Homeowner at Times Mirror Magazine she had complete P&L responsibility for two of the nation’s largest men’s special interest publications servicing eight million customers monthly.
